Abstract:A process for extracting plant sterol from cotton oil deodorizer distillate and the crystal purification were studied. The optimal conditions for transesterification of sterol ester were obtained as followed: the rate of blend composition 1/5 (m/V), temperature 60 ℃, the dosage of catalyst 35% and time 4.0 hour. The recovery rate was 54.8% and purity of rough sterol was 82.10%.
