Abstract:
The fermentation kinetics of glutathione production by Saccharomyces cerevisiae were studied in a batch system. Logistic equation and Luedeking-Piret equation were used to describe the kinetics of the biomass growth, glutathione production and substrate utilization, respectively. A good agreement was found between experimental data and predicted data, which indicated that the models obtained could describe the glutathione production in the batch fermentation process.
