Abstract:A method for the determination of caffeine, theobromine and theophylline in drinks by HPLC was established. The drinks were extracted with water, separated by HPLC and then detected by photo-diode-array detector. Quantitative analysis was performed with external standard method. The relative standard deviations and recovery range were obtained of 0.58%~1.85% and 80.2%~96.4%, respectively. This simple method was suitable to detect the concentration of caffeine, theobromine and theophylline in drinks.
