Abstract:The effects of the components of culture medium on the production of L-asparaginase, an anti-cancer drug fermented by E.coli, were studied. Results showed that the highest specific activity of L-asparaginase (352.54 U/g) was achieved under such conditions: 0.7% of sucrose as carbon source, 0.5% of beef extract and 1.0% of peptone as nitrogen source and 0.01% of FeSO4 as trace element. The yield of L-asparaginase was 31% higher than that by basic medium fermentation.
