Study of Decoloring Conditions of Sucrose Solution by Coconut Shell Active Carbon

Abstract:

The decoloring conditions of sucrose solution by coconut shell active carbon were studied using spectrophotometer at 420 nm. It indicated that the best amount of coconut shell active carbon, the pH value of the solution, temperature and the decoloring time were 1.5%, 3.5, 70 ℃ and 20 min, respectively, under which the decoloring rate reached 81.01%.
