Abstract:To study the influence of Herba Patriniae on lipid metabolism of rats, SD rats (male and female in half and half) were used as experimental animals. The experimental model was established with high-fat feed. Blood from eyeball was drawn after fed for 4 weeks. The contents of cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) were 3.01, 1.36, 0.32 and 1.07, respectively. Results showed that, compared with the positive control group, the contents of TC, TG, LDL-c of the other three groups were much lower and HDL-c was significantly higher. There were remarkable differences among the different dose groups. It was concluded that Herba patriniae has action of regulating blood lipids. The Herba patriniae can be used as a functional food to be developed.
